We have received an official letter of invitation to a closed meeting at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia, dedicated to the enforcement of the “Specifics of the Use, Protection, Safeguarding, and Reproduction of Forests on Agricultural Lands” (Government Decree of the Russian Federation No. 1509 and its updated version).
Earlier this autumn, a closed meeting was held to which all projects in Russia working in the field of agroforestry were formally invited. However, following the discussions, it turned out that Phoenix Garden remains the only project in the country currently planning Paulownia plantations of such scale. During the meeting with representatives of the Ministry, pilot projects and initiatives to clarify and refine regulatory acts were discussed — aiming to make the work of investors and land users more transparent and legally protected across the Russian Federation. For our team, this is a direct signal that the state recognizes the potential of agroforestry initiatives and is ready to create the conditions for their long-term development.
For our project, participation in this format is not only recognition of its importance, but also an additional incentive to move forward — expanding Paulownia plantations and strengthening the ecological impact of our agroforestry cluster. Support from the relevant ministry reinforces the confidence of our investors and partners that our strategic direction aligns with the national priorities of forest conservation and restoration. 🌱
